Pack, Put Away for Another Year, and Unpack

Little by little things are starting to change at my house. This dear couple that I enjoy every fall will be put away for awhile and I am opening up boxes and shopping looking for my new wreath to set on my door. Welcome December! The hustle and bustle never ends. But, really it is so much fun.Once I find the right wreath I will post it. Exciting for me.

Christmas Online Radio

As we approach the Christmas holiday most of us enjoy filling our homes with candle scents that remind us of the seasons; ginger, pumpkin spice, or orange and cranberry and cinnamon apple. But what about the music? Songs that escort us into that holiday feeling as we cook, bake or just sit and chat with our families. Well, I thought about you and knew you would be looking for Christmas music though there are a few songs on my blog, you might want more variety. Here are a few websites for holiday music. Enjoy.
"Oh. Hi, Mom!"
The REAL reason for MY Christmas Season
Isaiah 9:6
For unto US a child is born, unto US a son is given: and the government shall be upon His shoulder: and His name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

His name is Jesus!

Matthew 1:21
And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call His name JESUS: for He shall save His people from their sins.

Happy Thanksgiving

I am thankful for the Lord being in my life and for taking care of me and my children. I am thankful for family and friends. I am thankful for a home and good health. I am thankful for a job. I am thankful for a great church. I am thankful to know truth. I am thankful for miracles I have seen and miracles yet to be seen. I am thankful for being alive. I am thankful for hope in the Lord.

My Secret Pledge

Several posts back, I shared with you on how the Lord has taken care of me and my children in the face of adversity. I spoke of how the Lord provided a job, a raise over and over again. But I also mentioned that I made a commitment in the building fund hoping to meet that pledge little by little.

I gave to the Lord reminding the Lord of my promise, “I will fulfill this pledge”. Not expecting any great gifts in return just wanting to be a part of what God is doing to save people and do my part in any way I can, I opened up my mail and there was the balance of my secret pledge. For I told no one what or how much my pledge was going to be, yet, there it was a blessing to present to the Lord as I gave Him back what He has blessed me over and over with. It felt so good to sit with my children and let them know God answered my prayers, that He has given and I am giving it back to Him. Reminding them of all the times God took care of us. I have never written a check for that much money at one time, $1000.00. It may not seem like much to some but to me it was. The “Widow’s Mite”,she gave of her substance.

Luke 21:2-4
2And he saw also a certain poor widow casting in thither two mites.
3And he said, Of a truth I say unto you, that this poor widow hath cast in more than they all:
4For... she of her penury hath cast in all the living that she had.

That much money is not easy to come by, but my friend, God has given and given, I do not fear for my tomorrows, I face them gladly knowing God sees my through every day. Do you see why I love Him so? He is always soooo good to me. Always, always, so good to me, He takes such good care of me. Okay, so I made another pledge. Can't wait to see God help me meet this one, too.

Hot Glue Does the Trick

I knew something could be done with this swing but not too sure how to get the job done.

I bought the fabric at Walmart then headed home to get to work. I asked Christopher to bring in the cushion so I can reupholster it then I faced a dead-end when I realized the seat was not removable. It was made as part of the frame, but as they say, "Google it!" With a little bit of research, From Drab to Fabulous website I set to work and covered this seat in 1 hour with hot glue and gun. I sewed the pillow on the following day. With all the hats I wear as mom, I finished this project late at night several weeks ago but had not posted it but here goes. Whalla!

I added the pumpkin to the picture because of how bright it looked in contrast.

 Sit and relax.
I chose the colors that would fit each season. (In Arizona, we do not have many seasons)
We have used and enjoyed our swing as we roast marshmallows in the fire pit.
Can't wait for the days when we will have hot chocolate.
Brrr, does is feel a little bit cooler to you?

Discovering A Great Blog

I just came across a really great blog, Time Warp Wife, and I thought, my friends should see this. There are so many principles that we believe not only to be right and true, but most of all, Godly. I hope you visit and are blessed as I am. She writes about home, family, the kitchen and of course, the Word. I know you will enjoy the visit.
One of Darlene Schacht's quotes are:

"I cherish vintage values, and yet I understand they are simply a means to an end. Yes they are to be cherished, but unless I couple those values with strong conviction based upon the Word of God and what is right in His sight, they are nothing but tradition, custom and practice."

I am able to glean where someone else has sown.

Darlene, Thank you for all the tips. I really enjoyed your blog.
