Sometimes, All I Need Is A Girls-Day Then Everything Is All Right

Whether it's the ballet, to the mall, restaurants, coffee shops, antique stores or spending hours going through pattern books or pinterest finds, I have no one I'd rather spend it with than with my daughter, Kristen. I finally stopped gripping the dashboard when she's driving (I just pray silently to myself and keep my mind on other distractions). I have so much fun spending time with my daughter that we have a Girls-Day quite often. I can relate with the saying, "My daughter-my best friend". She believes in me, is supportive of me and calls herself my Mini-Me.

Sometimes, when I feel really sad and heartbroken she will just spend a few moments with me caressing my face and just talking her little heart out and we laugh and listen, and at times we are just quiet or decide to a sudden trip to anywhere and that will set everything a-right. Thank God for a girls day every now and then.
My advice is spend some time with your daughter and enjoy it.

Step Up-Bookcase

These little bits of Some Kind-a-Wonderful are painted with Annie Sloan chalk paint.

Cute idea, right? My sister Rose painted a step stool to make a bookcase.
I really love the look of using "Old" things to give a "New" look to a home.
Rose's coffee table Re-Do with Annie Sloan paint. You can't buy this paint at a paint store for they never heard of it. It's sold online or at antique stores that carry it. All I can say is the result is beautiful.

Thank you for sharing your projects with us.

Hide Me Behind the Cross

There are times after my devotional that I want to listen to music. Today, I was listening to this song, "Hide Me Behind the Cross" by Gold City Quartet. This song expresses what I want to say in prayer: more of You and less of me and reflect in me Your spirit.

Hide Me Behind the Cross
by Gold City Quartet

Lord as I seek to serve You,
May You find in me what's pleasing to Your heart.
I leave my will at Calvary,
Taking on a nature humbled by Your scars.
For I know it's only through Your love,
That who I am is hidden by Your grace.
Let my desires be overshadowed,
As I recall the purpose of that place.

(Chorus)

Hide me behind the cross,
Where my gains become as loss.
And only Your glory is in view.
Your power will be revealed
The more that I am concealed.
Hide me behind the cross
So the world sees only You.

Verse 2

If I rely on my strength
To be a source of hope for those in need,
The only profit I would gain
Would be the empty honor of my deeds.
But with all of self behind Your cross,
The splendor of Your love stands free to shine.
Illuminating with Your power,
Reaching souls so You alone are glorified.
Blessings,

Apostolic Young Woman

The infinity scarves, the big bags, and shoes that compliment modest outfits. I just love the look our young ladies wear: modest, colorful and expressive yet remaining very modest. The beauty of holiness reflects what is on the inside of their heart and soul. I am so proud of the young Apostolic women that still believe beauty is when God gets the glory.
